Maya MacGuineas is the president of the bipartisan Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, specializing in budget, tax, and economic policy. A trusted resource on Capitol Hill, she collaborates with both parties, testifies before Congress, and contributes to major outlets like The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. She also appears frequently as a TV commentator.
MacGuineas leads key Committee initiatives, including Fix the Debt, the Fiscal Institute, and FixUS, which explores the root causes of political division. Her recent work focuses on the future of the economy, technology, and capitalism. Previously, she held roles at the Brookings Institution, on Wall Street, and with The Washington Post editorial board. A native Washingtonian, she also serves on several boards.
